A Brazilian actor has lost 1,350 followers after posting a topless snap with his boyfriend on Instagram.

Igor Cosso, 30, who is known in Brazil for playing Junior in the soap opera ‘Salve-se Quem Puder’ (‘Every Man For Himself’), posted the intimate snap with his boyfriend, Heron Leal, on Instagram on 14th December.

On Instagram Stories, the beefy actor later wrote: “Curiously, yesterday 1,350 people stopped following me after I posted the photo.

“Conclusion: Instagram continues to separate those who look at this photo and feel something bad from those who look at it and feel something good.”

Cosso, who hails from the city of Belo Horizonte in the south-eastern Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, came out on Gay Liberation Day this June when he posted the first photo of him with his boyfriend, and spoke about the fear of losing work because of his sexuality.

He said at the time: “It seems I ended up taking an important step for myself today. I hope I can be an example of good character, courage and freedom for all those who follow my work as an actor. (I hope I don’t lose work because this has always been my true fear).”

In October this year, Cosso, who has been working as an actor since 2010, did a TEDx talk in Belo Horizonte on ‘The Construction of Courage’, in which he spoke about his journey to accepting his sexuality.

The actor still boasts over 500,000 followers on Instagram.
