This is a moment a man chatting on his mobile phone grabs a snake just before it can slither in through the door of a kindergarten.

CCTV footage of the scare shows parents and children cowering outside the nursery in Guang’an, Sichuan province, eastern China.

But as it moves ever closer to the entrance, a man strides across the pavement and simply picks it up by its tail.

Then – without even pausing his chat on his mobile phone – he takes the wriggling reptile to the nearby gutter.

Finally, he called the police and fire service so they could capture the snake and remove it.

Witness Ms. Deng said that the snake had been on the central reservation and then wriggled across the road before making a dash across the pavement.

Although most people were clearly scared she praised the brave man that was unbothered by the snake and grabbed by the tail to hold onto it so it could be removed safely.
