Moment Mexico Earthquake Makes Pool Slosh Wildly

This is the viral moment a swimming pool in Mexico sloshes wildly during a 7.5-magnitude earthquake.

The incident was filmed at the Magdalena Mixchuca Sports Centre in the central Mexican capital Mexico City and the footage was shared on Twitter by netizen ‘Tavira’ where it is going viral with over 960,000 views and 11,000 retweets.

The video shows the sports centre’s outside pool sloshing around wildly as a 7.5-magnitude earthquake hits the area.

Twitter user ‘AndreaC50228018’ said: “You can perfectly see the movement that causes tsunamis. Good video, thanks.”

‘Mikepaparri’ commented: “Now that’s what I call a wave pool!”

According to the Mexico City authorities, at least 14 buildings in the capital were damaged by the quake and one person has been injured.

The emergency services reportedly dealt with felled trees, toppled utility poles, damaged buildings as well as gas leaks.

Local media said the earthquake affected various regions in central and southern Mexico and six people died outside of the capital city.

The governor of Oaxaca State, one of the most affected regions, confirmed that the victims were five men and one woman.

According to reports, 500 homes and 55 historical monuments were damaged in Mexico during the earthquake.

The cleanup operation continues.
