This dashcam video shows the moment a suspected drunk blocks a screaming woman’s car on a road.

The incident took place on the Gongye North Road viaduct in Jinan, capital of East China’s Shandong Province, and happened after the suspect, Mr Li, had a drunken row with his wife, police reported.

Distressing footage dated 3rd February shows female motorist Ms Wang travelling along the motorway when she brakes as Mr Li, 40, stumbles into the middle of the road.

A woman believed to be his wife can be seen trying to pull him back onto a slip road chevron marking, but he breaks free, tumbles onto the ground and then sprints towards Ms Wang’s car.

Ms Wang, who is reportedly in her 20s, watches as Mr Li launches himself onto her car’s bonnet.

Moments later, the terrified woman is heard shouting into the telephone as she calls the cops and Mr Li reportedly tries to take her phone.

Jinan police who arrived to arrest Mr Li said the suspect had left the scene by the time they reached the viaduct.

He was detained in his home the following afternoon and has been given a 15-day sentence for the public order crime.

The authorities, who also fined Mr Li 1,000 RMB (110 GBP) for the stunt, said Mr Li’s wife was driving him home when they argued on the motorway.

His wife had then parked on the viaduct as they continued to quarrel outside the car.
