This is the moment a pet dog is run over by the front and back wheels of a car reportedly being driven for Uber and the pooch survived.
The incident occurred after the female dog named Cruela had left its home in the colony of Nueva Era, in the city of Monterrey, in the northeastern Mexican state of Nuevo Leon as builders were working in the house.
The CCTV footage shows the dog lying in the middle of the street when a silver car approaches it.
The driver does not stop and drives straight over the pooch who is caught under the front left wheel.
The pooch is then stuck under the car before the rear wheel drives over it. The dog then springs to its feet and runs to the pavement despite its injuries.
The pooch was later taken to a vet for treatment to its injuries and its owner claim it may lose the use of its hind legs, according to reports
The video was shared with a message claiming the driver was an Uber driver with the car’s licence plate.
It is unclear if an investigation has been launched or if the driver has been identified.
Local media reported that according to the penal code of the state of Nuevo Leon, those who commit animal abuse causing injuries can be punished with between one and three months in prison.
