This is the moment a doctor on the front line against coronavirus surprises his four-year-old son by dressing up as a dinosaur as they meet for the first time in 36 days.

The incident came as Brazilian doctor Juan Lambert, who has been on the frontline against COVID-19 since 17th March in the Clinical Hospital of Sao Sebastiao in the southeastern Brazilian state of Sao Paulo, decided to surprise his son Lucca.

The loving father had not seen his son in 36 days and bought a dinosaur outfit to surprise the youngster.

In the clip, Lucca can be seen running to the front gate to see his surprise but when he sees the ‘dinosaur’ walking towards him he sprints away back to his mother.

The youngster can be heard saying “I don’t want it, I want dad” and his father says “it’s dinosaur dad”.

Dad Lambert told Newsflash: “In the first few seconds he was scared as I had told him I was just going to leave him a present and leave. He ran away, running to his mum but when he saw my eyes in the costume he shouted “dad”.

“After that he came and hugged me, but he asked me if he could (hug me) before doing it because despite being just four years old, he is very aware of the coronavirus situation.”

Images show the father and son hugging in the costume after the touching reunion.

He told Newsflash he came up with the idea because “my son loves dinosaurs, 90 percent of his toys are dinosaurs, so I found the outfit and bought it. It was the best feeling in the world to be able to hug him”.

Lambert, who is coordinating the fight against COVID-19 in the health service in Sao Sebastiao, said he “directly attends those who have tested positive”.

His wife is five-months pregnant and she went with Lucca to her parent’s house to isolate from him as he is at risk of catching the virus from his work.

He said the situation “is very difficult as family help maintain mental health” and his son is usually the one who “gives him energy” to Newsflash.

The doctor has remained positive, telling Newsflash: “I am certain we will beat this virus, humanity is united for the first time I think, people are united in combating it, When people are united we are capable of beating any virus, bacteria or illness.”
