COVID-Positive Expectant Mum Goes Viral On TikTok After Attending Baby Shower In Tent

An expectant mother who attended a baby shower in a tiny tent after testing positive for COVID-19 has gone viral on TikTok, notching up over 2.1 million views in two days.

The mum, named only as Amber, and who goes by ‘amberlache94’ on TikTok, said she had tried to reschedule the party but scheduling conflicts made it impossible before she was due to give birth.

The woman, who can be seen in the footage sitting inside a see-through plastic tent that opens with a zip, shared the footage on TikTok with the message “When you test positive for covid the day before your baby shower” featuring in the clip, which she captioned: “I was not going to let covid kill my baby shower”.

At the time of writing, the footage, which shows Amber sitting in the tent surrounded by baby shower gifts, had notched up over 2.1 million views after she shared it online two days ago (Monday, 10th January).

After her video apparently generated a strong reaction from netizens, Amber posted an update in which she said: “I can see this is getting hate so let me say – 1st of all I tried to reschedule but there were no dates til after I have baby. & so I let everyone know I had covid and they could come at their own risk, and I basically went at the end and sat in a bubble and watched my baby daddy open the gifts.”

It is unclear where the baby shower took place, but Amber’s Instagram account indicates that she might live in the US state of Texas.
