Pic Shows: Officers raided the suspect's home after the stabbing; An Iranian man suspected of stabbing a German woman to death when she rejected his advances has been arrested in Spain after an international manhunt. Iranian citizen Ali Shahghaleh, 44, has been arrested in Seville in southern Spain after an international arrest warrant was issued by German police for the killing of the 36-year-old woman, identified only as Anna S. because of local privacy laws, in Dusseldorf in the western German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. The woman, who was an event planner, was stabbed to death in the street on 20th August. According to German newspaper Bild, witnesses saw Shahghaleh attack the victim from behind and stab her before running off. They said they had tried to chase him, but had been forced to give up when he also threatened them with the knife. According to Bild, Shahghaleh came to Germany in 2001 and knew the victim because she lived close to the kiosk where he worked. He had previously written her four letters in which he professed his love for her, and the newspaper quoted one of the letters. He wrote: "Dear Anna, you are a very beautiful, happy and independent businesswoman. I’m not trying to destroy your life. For I need your help to rebuild my life anew." He added: "I only want to let you know how much I need you and I miss you. Every second without you is hell for me." He ended the letter with "I like you very much" and signed it as "Fool Ali." When arrested, he was unarmed and had a train ticket to Valencia in his pocket. Police have so far found no clues as to the location of the murder weapon and German investigators will only be able to interrogate him when he is extradited to Germany.
