The student dubbed ‘the Bulgarian Barbie’ has said that she is looking forward to her 19th lip operation as soon as the COVID-19 lockdown is over.
Andrea Ivanova, 22, from the city of Burgas on Bulgaria’s Black Sea coast reportedly paid 315 BGN (143 GBP) for her 18th lip augmentation op earlier this month.
Ivanova, who studies at Sofia University in the Bulgarian capital of the same name, told local media: “That operation took place on 13th March, on the same day we announced the extraordinary measures because of COVID-19.”
“I will not stop these procedures and I cannot wait for the lockdown to end so I can go ahead with the 19th procedure!
“The ops are completely safe from the virus. The only difference is that the medical staff were wearing face masks the last time.
“Right now I’m putting cream on my lips so they don’t explode.”
The Bulgarian Barbie told local media that she does not bother with wearing face masks and gloves, adding: “I’m more worried about my grandparents than myself.
“I don’t interact with others except on social media and I am isolating at home.”
In 2018 when Ivanova underwent her 15th lip augmentation procedure, she said: “Everyone has the right to live and look how they want. It is not necessary for everyone to conform to a standard imposed by others.
“It is a personal choice and I have never been afraid to express it!”
