This is the moment a brave 17-year-old girl points her phone in the face of an alleged attempted rapist while under attack apparently causing him to run away.

The incident was filmed by a CCTV camera in the district of Darnyts’kyi in the northern Ukrainian capital Kiev as the young victim was leaving a building.

Reports said that the teenager was on a video call to a pal when the suspect suddenly attacked her.

They added that he later fled out of concern of being identified.

In the black and white CCTV footage, the teenage victim is seen being pushed backwards by the suspect while holding her phone in her right hand.

Kiev Police spokesperson Oksana Blishchik told Central European News (CEN) that the young girl pointed her phone at her attacker, which caused him to flee. The police confirmed that the girl is 17 and that her name has not been disclosed.

As she grapples with the man, she appears to point her phone in his face and he promptly runs away.

The scared 17-year-old then straightens herself on the pavement after her lucky escape.

According to reports, the local authorities are considering the incident as a sex attack against a minor and are still trying to find the young man.

They recently released a facial composite of the suspect while describing him as “20 to 25 years old, 5’6” to 5’8” tall, slim with a long and narrow face, and light brown hair”.

The police investigation is ongoing.
