A man who picked a fight with a Michael Jackson impersonator realised he had bitten off more than he could chew after the entertainer turned out to be a professional wrestler.

Video footage of the incident shows the two squaring up, with the larger man moving in on his opponent dressed like Michael Jackson in Las Vegas in the US state of Nevada.

Eyewitnesses said the man’s attack was completely unprovoked, but rather than giving the Michael Jackson impersonator a beating, exactly the opposite happened.

The impersonator, whose real name is Santana Jackson, is also a professional wrestler, and after initially stepping backwards to avoid the man’s thrashing, Santana moves in and swiftly trips the man to the ground before then managing to put him in a headlock.

The video was widely shared, with people commenting on the moment the man appeared red-faced and struggling to breathe in the headlock.

One person noted: “That moment when you realise you made a big mistake”.

The incident took place on Freemont Street, which is famous for its many casinos.

The video was recorded by Marcus Deegan, who shared it online with the message “WELCOME TO FREEMONT STREET !! hee hee”.

The video notched up millions of views, with people also asking “who’s bad” and with most people backing the impersonator.

The wrestler later commented on the video, saying that he had not been trying to hurt the man and was just trying to restrain him to stop him from being violent.

He wrote: “Please know I don’t think fighting is the answer so try to avoid a fight if u can. Stay safe.”

He is performing in the Las Vegas ‘MJ Live’ show, which is a tribute to the late ‘King of Pop’.
