These are some of the heavily armoured narco trucks left behind on a battlefield following fierce fighting that lasted over 45 minutes between drug cartel members.

The shocking incident occurred in the Comales area in the municipality of Camargo in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas yesterday morning (Thursday, 5th November).

According to the local press, the area is in a remote location which made it difficult for authorities to arrive at the scene, made more challenging as the cartel groups also placed small metal spikes on the motorway designed to puncture tyres.

The images show the vehicles left behind after the brutal conflict, including two large armoured trucks locally dubbed ‘monsters’ due to their armoured protection.

One Dodge Ram truck is heavily protected by a large armoured casing and even has an area in the back where shooters can apparently engage in firefights with protection.

A Toyota Tundra also equipped to be a ‘monster’ is seen badly damaged with bullet holes around it while a white sedan vehicle is burned all over.

A lorry was also heavily damaged in the conflict as almost the entire front half of it is completely burned down, and blocked the motorway.

According to local reports, the conflict lasted around 45 minutes and included heavy calibre weapons.

However, despite the apparent brutality of the gunfight, there have been no reports of injuries or fatalities resulting from it.

Authorities arrived at the scene after it had ended and only found the destroyed vehicles and have refused to offer any further information.

Local media report the area is heavily disputed by the Northeast Cartel and the Gulf Cartel while one of Mexico’s most notorious crime groups Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) is also reported to have started to gain some presence there.
