This woman has been sentenced to 85 years in prison after killing an expectant mother before cutting out her unborn child and taking it to hospital claiming it was hers.

Killer Cynthia Fatima has been handed 85 years behind bars for murdering Jessica Gabriela, 20, who went missing on 27th March 2018 when she was eight months pregnant in the city of Tampico, in the northeastern Mexican state of Tamaulipas.

Fatima murdered the expectant mother as she wanted to steal her unborn child as she had faked her own pregnancy. She then used the tot to claim she had suffered a stillbirth, the court heard.

It is unclear if the baby was dead when it was cut from the woman stomach or whether it died later.

The victim had gone missing after telling her mother that she was meeting a woman who had contacted her on Facebook offering to donate some clothes for the baby.

Four days after the victim went missing Fatima walked into the Carlos Canseco General Hospital carrying a dead baby and claiming she had suffered a miscarriage.

Investigators found that in December 2017 Fatima, who was not pregnant, had shared a picture on social media posing with her husband, identified as Omar Enrique who was touching her belly.

In January 2018 she posted a photo of a pregnant belly, saying she was entering the final countdown to having her baby with her.
