This is the viral moment an adorable cat becomes engrossed in a Nintendo video game and ‘catches’ the digital prizes flashing across the TV screen.

In the viral footage filmed somewhere in Japan, shared by the cat’s owner and viewed over 1.3 million times on Twitter, the cute feline is seen battling the villainous ‘Piranha Plant’ from Nintendo’s ‘Super Smash Bros.’ games series.

While Piranha Plant fires out a steady string of spiky balls, the cat skilfully ‘catches’ them on the screen with its paw and appears to ‘bank’ them in the corner to earn vital points.

Out of 12 attempts, the gamer feline only fails to catch two spiked prizes.

The scene then changes to a round of ‘Mega Man’ where the cat tries to catch whizzing metal discs that are thrown across the screen.

Out of four attempts, the cute moggy catches three discs.

According to netizen ‘Rojar0310’, who owns the unnamed pet and shared the viral footage, the moggy loves platform games so much that when the console is turned off, it hangs around the TV waiting for its next Nintendo fix.

However, the proud cat owner assured social media followers that the pet has plenty of non-video game toys as well.
