This is the moment a young boy urinates against a lift button panel before sparks fly from it when a shocked woman boards the lift moments later.

The incident was filmed by the lift’s CCTV camera in the block of flats located in the city of Meizhou located in the south-eastern Chinese province of Guangdong.

In the footage, the boy is seen unzipping himself when the lift doors close and he then appears to urinate against the panel.

The boy gets out of the lift on his floor and shortly afterwards a woman enters.

She is seen jumping back as the lift’s panel starts short-circuiting and shoots out sparks.

The stunned woman then runs out of the lift with her hand over her mouth.

According to local media, the building’s maintenance company arrived to fix the lift and the work cost 10,000 RMB (1,160 GBP).

It is unclear whether the boy’s family has been asked to pay for the damage.

Last year, a mother in the city of Xi’an made her son clean a lift for one month after he was caught urinating inside it.

Meanwhile, a boy from the city of Chongqing was trapped inside a lift for several hours when he urinated against the control panel and caused it to break down.
