This is the moment a heroic passerby leaps onto the tracks to pull a suicidal woman clear of an oncoming train just in the nick of time.

The incident was filmed by a CCTV camera at the Mustafa Kemalpasa railway station in the suburb of Kucukcekmece in the north-western Turkish city of Istanbul and shared on social media.

In the footage, a woman is seen lowering herself onto the tracks from the platform and kneeling down to wait for the onrushing train.

Two passing men notice the woman on the tracks and rush over. One man jumps down and manages to pull her clear a split second before the train passes.

Netizens praised the heroic passerby for putting his own life at risk to save the woman.
