The video footage shows the moment two cops uproot one of the plants and puts it inside a large plastic bag.

According to local media, the Federal Police have launched an investigation to determine who planted the cannabis seeds and how long they had been growing in the airport car park.

Reports said that the plants were in a healthy condition and it is currently unknown if they were planted by an airport worker as car park staff have denied knowing of their existence.

After the discovery, the plants were taken to the Ministry of Public Security in plastic bags.

No arrests have been announced so far.

Last year, a marijuana crop was found in a public park in the city of Naucalpan in the central state of Mexico.
