A driver is fighting for his life after an out-of-control concrete mixer lorry crushed a small car against a crash barrier and rolled right over it, as this video shows.

The horrific accident was captured by CCTV cameras in the city of Pinghu in China’s eastern Zhejiang Province.

Authorities say the concrete mixer was going over the speed limit and its driver could not stop in time when reaching the crossroads where three saloon cars can be seen waiting at the lights.

In the video, the lorry slams into the back of a silver saloon car and crashes into a second vehicle as well.

However, the first silver saloon comes off worst as the lorry pushes it against the nearby crash barrier and crushes it from the left side before driving right over it.

Images taken in the aftermath show the small car mangled and badly misshapen by the impact, with the lorry on top of it.

Rescuer say the driver survived the accident but was rushed to hospital in critical condition. He is not out of harm’s way and still fighting for his life.

The police are still investigating the case, with the lorry driver believed to have been detained shortly after the crash.
