This dramatic footage shows a brazen hit-and-run driver cutting up a female driver and clipping her car, causing it to violently flip over and over on a motorway.

Dashcam footage from the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macau Expressway in the Chinese capital shows the suspect Mr He driving a dark grey SUV.

Mr He speeds up next to the silver car driven by the woman surnamed Zhang, who was carrying a second person surnamed Kang in the passenger seat.

Mr He attempts to merge into Zhang’s lane but ends up clipping the front of her car instead, causing the woman to lose control and veer off-road.

She crashes onto the central reservation of the busy motorway and her car flips sideways in the air before rolling over numerous times.

Shockingly, Mr He is seen driving away from the crash site instead of stopping to check on the victim and her passenger.

Beijing authorities put out a statement calling for Mr He to turn himself in following the incident on 17th March.

Today (20th March), they announced the suspect had been detained on hit-and-run charges.

The authorities said Zhang and Kang were not seriously injured, but their vehicle was significantly damage in the crash.

Further investigations are ongoing.
