She was reported as missing in Etla on 25th November, sparking an appeal to help find her.

The trans woman was found on 30th November after people noticed a body at the bottom of the cliff in El Campamento.

Police arrived at the scene and confirmed that the body did not have vital signs and was in an advanced state of decomposition. They said there were also signs that the person had been badly beaten before being thrown off the cliff.

The LGBT rights organisation GES Mujer said that violence and hate crimes linked to gender identity should be eradicated in the society.

Local newspaper El Universal said that 422 trans people were killed in Mexico between 2007 and 2017 with 19 taking place in Oaxaca State.

According to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, the life expectancy of trans people in Latin America is only between 35 and 40 years, especially due to hate crimes and social exclusion.
