This pretty young mum has been shot dead in her car just days after a previous murder attempt in which her head was grazed by a bullet after she brushed off a man’s advances.

Bruna Moraes Aquino, 22, and her boyfriend, 34-year-old Ewerton Fernandes da Silva, were sat inside Ewerton’s parked Volkswagen Gol in the Brazilian city of Campo Grande on the night of 1st August when a man wearing a helmet and clad in black pulled up on a motorbike, dismounted, and fired around four gunshots at the couple before remounting and riding away.

Ewerton, who works as a petrol station attendant, was grazed on the arm, and he noticed his girlfriend was bleeding profusely so he drove her straight to hospital.

Bruna was still alive when she was admitted to the emergency care unit, but she later succumbed to her injuries.

The police subsequently interviewed Ewerton, who told officers that a man named Wellington had hit on his girlfriend when they were at a nightclub in the early hours of 30th August.

Ewerton said he had a word with the man before he and Bruna left the club. He said that as they were driving back, they noticed they were being followed by two individuals on a motorbike.

He said they fired gunshots at their car and that Bruna was grazed on the back of the head. She sought medical treatment, however, she decided not to report the crime to the police.

The police have since seized Bruna’s mobile phone in an attempt to find the perpetrator. They have registered the case as homicide and attempted murder.

Bruna worked as a sales assistant. She leaves behind a one-year-old daughter.
