Young Man Rescued From Freezing River By Brave Good Samaritan With Bamboo Pole After He Fell Through The Ice

This footage shows a young man being rescued from an icy river by a brave good Samaritan with a bamboo pole after he fell through the ice.

The incident took place in the city of Langfang, which is located in the province of Hebei in northern China, on Sunday, 23rd January.

In the footage, a young man can be seen struggling in a freezing river by a bridge while a rescuer lying on the ice can be seen holding out his arm in an attempt to save him.

Another rescuer slides the first rescuer a bamboo pole for the man in the river to hold onto.

The first rescuer can then be seen slowly pulling the man to safety, and the man is eventually close enough for the rescuer to grab his hand.

The rescuer can eventually be seen hoisting the man onto the ice and helping him along.

The young man, who was referred to as a child and as a minor in local media reports, but who has not been named and whose age is currently unclear, can be seen struggling in the water while his rescuer tries to save him.

The young man is thought to have escaped unharmed. No names were mentioned in local reports. It is not thought that the authorities are investigating the incident.
