The teen star Kayo Silva, aged 17, succumbed to the injuries after he was struck by a lightning in his home in the municipality of Cumari, in Goias State, Brazil.

The sertaneja celebrity – a Brazilian country music style – was reportedly inside the house when the incident happened on Thursday, 23rd February 2023.

Reports claimed that his family had immediately brought him to the Cumari Municipal Hospital but he did not withstand the injuries.

Kayo and his twin brother Kayck reportedly performed at regional events after they gained fame by taking part in the local Expo Canta 2022 competition in the city of Catalao.

It is unclear how the boy ended up being shocked when he was inside the property and an investigation is underway.

Following the young boy’s tragic death, the competition’s organiser – the Rural Union of Catalao – took to social media and expressed their condolences to Kayo’s family.

One user named Sherida Lis said: “The whole town mourns him, may God bring the needed comfort.

“Young boy, handsome, intelligent, polite, simple, humble, a wonderful talent and had his whole life ahead of him, even those who didn’t know him personally felt his death.”

User Abadia Nascimento commented: “Very sad. [The] little boy and his twin brother Kayck sang so well.

“May God give a lot of wisdom, especially to his mother. There is no greater pain for a mother than burying a child.”
