This is the moment young children are made to hit a drunk schoolteacher with his own stick after he fell asleep on the floor of his classroom and remained snoozing in front of parents and school bosses.

The teacher, identified only by the name Kanwar, was found by a group of primary school children who tried to wake him but when that failed, he called their parents and school coordinator Satyanarayan Sonvani.

Local reports say the coordinator ‘handed over’ the schoolmaster to his students who then used the stick to beat him. The short video clip shows both adults and children surrounding Kanwar, said to be drunk on wine.

The controversial incident was caught on camera at the 40-pupil Patalpara Government Primary School in Jagdalpur, India, a region where the rise of alcoholism has become a hot political topic.

The teacher is reported to have subsequently been taken to a district hospital and the matter reported to local authorities.
