A thug who hurled a dog from a second-floor balcony is behind bars after he was seized by police and they realised he was already wanted on other charges.
Shocking CCTV footage of the helpless dog hitting the apartment block courtyard in Kostrzyn, Poland, on 3rd June appalled animal lovers.
The black pooch hits the ground with a sickening bounce but manages to jump up and run away with its tail between its legs.
But when police reviewed the footage they realised the suspect was on the run from officers police 150 miles away (250km) in Wrzesnia.
Not only was he wanted but had 100 days of a jail sentence left to serve.
Local media reports the thug had fled his apartment but was arrested by Wrzesnia police on 11th June.
He will reportedly serve his previous sentence before then facing charges for animal abuse, punishable by up to five years in prison in Poland.
Meanwhile, the man’s neighbours told the police that he had abused the dog on previous occasions, including once with boiling water.
The dog was found wandering the streets during the night and was eventually caught by the suspect’s neighbours who then notified the Mondo Cane Animal Welfare Society.
Volunteers collected the pooch and informed the police in Kostrzyn about the incident.
Amazingly, the dog suffered no life-threatening injuries and is currently being cared for by volunteers of the Mondo Cane Animal Welfare Society.
