This is the moment a passing lorry catches on a power cable and drags an electrician on a ladder along the road.

Danilo Lopes Hebert, 29, was seriously injured in the municipality of Santa Maria de Jetiba in the Brazilian state of Espirito Santo while at work on 10th November.

Reports said the workman is fighting for his life in a coma in intensive care following the incident.

In the footage, viewed over 105,000 times on Facebook at the time of writing, the passing lorry is seen snagging on a cable that sends the workman on the ladder flying onto the tarmac and sliding along the road for several metres.

While lying motionless on the ground, a colleague is seen running along the road towards the victim to check on him.

According to reports, Hebert has been hospitalised and is currently in intensive care in a coma.

Relatives said online that the family is distraught over the accident, and it is not looking likely that Hebert will pull through.

There have been no further updates on the victim’s condition or whether the police are trying to track down the lorry driver.
