Womans Leg Trapped In Bus Doors After Driver Closes Them Too Soon

This is the moment a woman struggles to step onto a platform while getting off a bus and its doors close on her causing her to fall into the gap with her leg trapped in the door.

The incident was filmed in the island city-state of Singapore when the woman, name not reported, was disembarking the bus on a rainy day.

In the footage, the woman, who apparently has a problem with her right leg, is seen taking her time to step over the large gap onto the platform and uses a handrail to balance herself.

However, as she is caught between the bus and the platform, the doors close on her and she falls backwards into the gap.

Unable to move with her leg trapped in the door, the driver apparently opens the door and a worker rushes over to the woman and helps her to sit up.

Tammy Tan, the spokesperson for the public transport operator SBS Transit, called the bus driver’s actions “most unacceptable”, adding: “It is fortunate that the lady wasn’t seriously injured and received outpatient hospital treatment at the hospital.”

Tan said the company is “in touch with her family to extend our care and concern and have offered our assistance too”.

On behalf of SBS Transit, Tan wished the woman “a speedy and complete recovery”, and added: “We have taken strict disciplinary action against the bus captain and will be monitoring his performance closely.”
