Woman With Dwarfism Confounds Expectations By Successfully Giving Birth To Baby Boy

This woman with dwarfism who stands at under four feet tall has given birth to a healthy baby boy.

Syakila Norazma Amira, 28, gave birth to a baby boy without hitch at the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital in the Malaysian city of Kuala Terengganu on 25th January.

Measuring just 118 centimetres (3’10”) in height, Syakila suffers from dwarfism, but that has not held her back from enjoying a relationship like anyone else.

She married the love of her life Muhammad Azri Zaidi, who is eight years her junior, on 18th March last year, having met him playing online video games in 2020.

Muhammad, who does not have dwarfism, does not consider his wife’s small stature an issue, and said he fell in love with her personality and confidence.

He revealed his family accepted her as well, and he was quoted as saying about his wife in local media: “She’s not like others, but she’s perfect in my eyes.

“We fill each other’s voids and I often just ignore what people have to say about us, as long as we’re both happy.”

One of the things people said about them is that they would not be able to have children, given Syakila’s condition.

The new mum said: “It was a surprise to me too.”

Syakila added: “I’m so lucky as I did not have any difficulties during my pregnancy and when I was giving birth, except that I needed more supervision.”
