A woman has won a USD-1.68 million jackpot after her mum suggested she should try her luck, and she listened and bought the lottery ticket that ended up being a big winner.
The woman, who has not been named, but who is 37 years old, told Michigan Lottery officials that she had been at Flappers Cafe in Lincoln Park, which is a city in Wayne County in the US state of Michigan, when she bought the ticket.
The unnamed woman said: “I was out with my mom and playing Club Keno. My mom told me that the Fast Cash jackpot was more than USD 1.6 million and suggested I give that game a try.”
She added: “I bought a couple tickets and won a few bucks and decided to buy one more with my winnings. That was when I won the jackpot.
“I was so excited; I really wasn’t sure how to react. I called the bar owner over and told him I had won and asked him to scan the ticket for me. He confirmed that I had won, and I just couldn’t believe what was happening.”
The winning ticket netted the woman a jackpot of USD 1,682,998 (GBP 1.23 million), which she said that she was going to use to buy a new house, pay off her student loans, and take her son, whose name and age have not been reported, on a trip to Disney World. She reportedly plans to put the rest in savings.
