This is the moment a woman is filmed walking a pig on a lead down a Russian street during the country’s coronavirus lockdown as it grunts and squeals.

The footage was filmed on Moiseenko Street in the city of Saint Petersburg in the Oblast of the same name in north-western Russia during the country’s coronavirus lockdown.

In the video, the woman, who has not been named, can be seen walking the pig down the pavement on a lead.

The pig can be heard grunting as it stops to sniff a piece of rubbish. The pig squeals as the woman pulls it along the pavement and a dog then appears from behind a van, with the man recording joking that it had been scared by the pig.

Local media report the pig is well-known in the city and is called Dulcinea.

Its owner said she bought the animal when it was mature, adding: “It likes bathing but it is too heavy to get it into the water so together with my husband we hold by its legs and put it into the tub. It likes fruit and vegetables.”

She said it is difficult to look after the animal in her flat but the pig is calm.

It is unclear if the woman was sanctioned for breaking the lockdown to walk the pig.
