According to the police, a witness said the victim had been at a clandestine party when one of the guests realised his wallet had gone missing.

Private parties and gatherings are currently banned throughout the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo, where Votorantim is located.

The state is currently in the ‘red’ phase, meaning many non-essential services, establishments and events are currently prohibited in order to stop the spread of COVID-19.

The guests then all proceeded to look for the wallet, which was reportedly found in Alessandra’s purse.

She was subsequently beaten and then thrown out of the house, which was the last time she was reported to be seen alive.

The party took place close to where her dead body was later found.

The victim’s cause of death has not yet been ascertained and the police have launched an investigation into the case, which they have registered as a suspicious death.
