This is the moment a heavyset woman allegedly slashes the face of a young boy with a knife as he walks along the pavement with his family.
The incident was filmed in the southern Georgian capital Tbilisi as the unnamed parents were walking along the pavement hand-in-hand with their young children.
In the shocking footage posted on YouTube and viewed 36,000 times, the family-of-four is seen walking along the pavement as a heavyset woman approaches from the opposite direction.
Apparently for no reason, the woman stops and appears to jab something into the boy’s face before walking on.
As the stunned parents stop in their tracks, the heavyset woman returns and appears to try to attack the young girl, but the father jumps in front of his daughter to protect her.
The dad then runs after the woman, but she reportedly uses the knife to scare him away.
The suspect then crosses the street as though nothing had happened.
According to local media, the woman, who has not been named in reports, is a 50-year-old unemployed artist and she was arrested by the police shortly afterwards and charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm on a minor.
If found guilty, the suspect faces a prison term of between seven and 10 years. The case is ongoing.
Meanwhile, the young boy, who was born in 2015 but has not been named in reports, was taken to hospital with two deep knife wounds to his nose and right cheek and has undergone surgery, according to reports.
