A young woman who was run over by a have-a-go hero who was trying to hit motorbike muggers who were robbing her has survived her serious injuries only to be mugged again after being treated at hospital.
Brenda Desire Gutierrez, 24, was on her way back from the hospital where she was being treated for her injuries from the October 2020 incident when she was robbed again in the same Argentine district.
In the CCTV footage of the first attack, which was published around the world, Brenda was seen clinging to her bag as she was dragged down the street with the crooks on the motorbike accelerating to escape.
She is first pulled along the pavement, and then dragged onto the street, but still refuses to let go, even when the crooks pulled out a gun and tried shooting her.
Shortly after entering the road, a silver Volkswagen Polo appears and the vehicle swerves in a bid to hit the motorbike muggers, but runs over the young woman instead.
As the crooks speed off, the body of Desire, alive but badly injured, can be seen lying motionless on the ground.
The driver, whose name was not revealed but was reportedly a 20-year-old man travelling with his 38-year-old mother, stopped to give emergency first aid to the injured woman.
He said that he realised what was happening and tried to stop the motorcycle, but ended up running over the young woman instead.
Desire was rushed to the Mariano y Luciano de la Vega de Moreno Hospital still conscious but with a serious head injury.
She spent 30 days in hospital and underwent numerous procedures and the thieves managed to flee and have not yet been identified by the police.
However, on her way home from being treated for the injuries, she was attacked again in the district of Moreno in the eastern Argentine province of Buenos Aires while getting off the bus with her mother.
According to the police, the victims were assaulted this time again by two armed criminals who came out of a construction site wearing hoodies.
When she saw the thieves, Gutierrez began to run and scream for help, while her mother was reportedly assaulted by one of the criminals, who also stole her phone.
A complaint was made at the police headquarters by both women and was passed on to public prosecutor Federico Sonora.
