Spanish cops have launched an investigation after a 33-year-old woman claimed she was raped in a Majorca hotel after a night out.
The disturbing incident occurred at a hotel in Palma, the capital of Majorca one of the Spanish Balearic Islands and the woman, who has not been named in reports but is a resident in Palma.
She was treated at the Son Espases hospital afterwards, where doctors examined her and confirmed she had been raped, according to local media.
The victim reportedly told police she had met the aggressor at a party venue on the Palma promenade. At dawn they then went back to his hotel room and once they were there the woman said the man forced her to have sex against her will.
The woman went to the Son Espases hospital at 3 am, where the protocol for cases of sexual assault was activated.
The victim was examined by a medic and it was confirmed that she had been raped, according to reports. The case was left to the National Police, who have initiated an investigation to locate the perpetrator of the rape. The nationalities of the aggressor and the victim are unclear and the investigation is ongoing.
The suspect has not yet been apprehended.
