A woman who suffocated her friend so she could steal her newborn daughter has been jailed for 55 years by a court in Texas.

Jealous Magen Fieramusca, 37, kidnapped and killed her pal Heidi Broussard, intending to pass off her two-week-old daughter as her own.

Prosecutors told the court that Fieramusca had spent months faking a pregnancy so she could kidnap Heidi and her baby.

She planned, the court heard, to kill Heidi and pretend that her child was her own.

Fieramusca was so convincing, said prosecutors, that even her husband believed she was expecting.

Baby Margot Carey and her 33-year-old mum went missing from their apartment on 12th December 2019.

Margot was found at a home in Harris County, Texas, a few days later with her mother’s body.

Police seized Fieramusca – Heidi’s long-time church camp pal – on accusations of kidnapping the pair and killing the mum.

Fieramusca was sentenced after pleading guilty to murder charges on 2nd February.

As well as her baby and a son, Heidi left behind her long-time partner Shane, who is the children’s father.
