Woman In ICU With Horror Rashes After Taking Ibuprofen

These shocking images show the horrific allergic reaction to ibuprofen which left a woman in intensive care with peeling black rashes all over skin, bleeding lips, and cuts to her face.

The incident occurred after the Thai woman bought Ibuprofen after having a wisdom tooth removed.

Netizen ‘Ake Srisuwan’ said on social media the woman, who has not been named in reports, did not consult her doctor about taking the medication and instead took one pill in the morning and another in the afternoon.

She then began suffering from a severe allergic reaction and her boyfriend took her to hospital.

Images show how dark rashes covered her body, with the skin on her neck seemingly peeling from the rashes.

Reports state she spent seven days in the intensive care unit as the reaction led to her lips bleeding and her skin discolouring.

In the photos she can be seen in a hospital bed with her skin in blotches of dark rashes and her ear discoloured.

Local media report the woman spent a total of 14 days receiving treatment after the reaction before recovering.

The American Food and Drug Administration, allergic reactions to ibuprofen can include symptoms such as asthma, facial swelling, rashes, blisters, and hives.

Severe allergic reactions can lead to victims needing urgent medical care.
