This is the moment a woman allegedly steals a rifle from a police patrol car and begins opening fire reportedly shooting two people on a busy street before she is shot by cops.
The startling scene took place in the city of Aguascalientes in the state of the same name in central Mexico when a woman named in reports as Gabriela, alias ‘La Gaviota (The Seagull), 34, allegedly stole the rifle from a patrol car.
In the videos, she can be seen walking down the street holding the rifle and she can be seen opening fire as she stands in the middle of the street. Local media report she began shooting at three police units, and two civilians were hit during the incident.
The officers in the video can be heard shooting back and the gun woman then drops to the ground as cops rush towards her.
The Secretary of Public Security told local media “due to this emergency situation, and seeing their lives were in danger, the officers shot against the aggressive woman, and managed to neutralise her after injuring her in the legs”.
The authorities confirmed that a couple who were travelling with their kids in a vehicle were injured in the incident. They were identified as a woman named Teresa, 41, who was shot in the leg, and her boyfriend Rafael, 43, who was injured in the backside.

The couple were taken to the Hidalgo Hospital along with their three children, aged between three and seven years old. The children were not injured in the incident but reportedly suffered anxiety attacks.
The suspect was arrested and taken to the Tercer Milenio Hospital while a man who was accompanying her named Vicente, 42, was also arrested. The authorities say the woman may have been acting under the effects of drugs, but did not specify further.
The authorities confirmed that “she had knowledge of the use of the weapon after stealing it from inside a police patrol car, turning off the safety and starting to shoot against the three police units”.
Local media report she has a criminal record for robbery. It is unclear if she has been charged.
