A woman demanded her husband kill his young lover on finding out he was having an affair with her as a condition for their marriage to continue, say the police.
The charred body of Vitoria Luiza da Silva, aged 20, was found with her face disfigured on a street in the Brazilian municipality of Praia Grande on the morning of 1st April.
The police now believe the suspect’s wife, aged 23, demanded her 25-year-old husband kill his lover as a condition for their marriage to continue.

Officers believe that Vitoria did not know that her lover was married at the time, and that when she found out, she initially distanced herself from him.
However, she later agreed to meet up with him when he sent her a message telling her he had broken up with his wife and that he wanted to talk to her.
The contents of the message, however, turned out to be a lie, and it was actually a trap set by the couple in order to lure and then kill the young woman.

The police believe the couple took Vitoria to a remote location before the man shot her in the head.
Believing they had killed her, the two suspects left the scene before subsequently returning to take her mobile phone.
According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, when they returned to the scene, they realised she was still alive, and so they decided to set her on fire.

She died from both the injuries caused by the gunshot and the flames, which left her body completely blackened.
Her disappearance was registered by her family and friends, and following a police investigation, the couple was arrested for femicide and concealment of the corpse.
The suspects remain in preventive custody, awaiting trial.
