Woman Caught Smuggling Drugs Stashed In Watermelon Into Police Station

This is the hollowed-out watermelon stuffed with cocaine, crack, marijuana and a mobile phone that a 28-year-old woman tried to smuggle into a police station in Brazil.

The young woman was arrested while trying to enter the police station in the Brazilian municipality of Morro do Chapeu with the drug-laden fruit on the afternoon of 3rd February.

She was searched when she entered the building to visit her partner, who was being held in custody on suspicion of murder.

The fruit and its contents were seized by the police, and the woman, who has not been named, was charged with drug trafficking.

She has since been taken to a police station in the nearby municipality of Barra do Mendes where she remained at the time of reporting.

The seized contents will be analysed by the authorities as the investigation continues.
