Woman Burns 650 GBP Of Cash Disinfecting It In Microwave

This Russian woman has reportedly burnt over 650 GBP of banknotes after placing them in the microwave in a bid to disinfect them from coronavirus.

Local media report the woman who is only identified by her online username ‘prosto.robski’ reportedly decided to take extreme measures against the spread of COVID-19 and protect herself from potential traces of virus on banknotes.

She reportedly placed 65,000 RUB (655 GBP) into her microwave and turned it on to kill the bacteria.

However, when she opened the microwave she saw that the heat had set the metallic strip of the banknotes on fire, according to reports.

Images posted to social media show the notes with burnt strips running down them but the woman has now deleted her accounts as she was reportedly receiving abusive messages.

Netizens were not amused by the woman’s decision to try to disinfect the cash in such a bizarre manner.

‘Inna Neretina’ said: “She is so stupid. One additional thing to do here was covering this money in foil.”

‘Tarakan Bix’ commented: “This is quite a lot of money for a person who is that stupid.”

‘Alexander Demidov’ remarked: “This is ridiculous. She could have washed the banknotes with soap and then ironed them out. It would have been more efficient.”
