Wolverhampton Wanderers star Adama Traore has opened the door to a possible move to Real Madrid saying that signing for the club “would not be a problem for me”.
Wolves star Traore, 24, made the comments in an interview as Wolves are set to face Espanyol in a ‘Europa League Round of 32’ match today (Thursday).
When speaking about their upcoming match, Traore said: “We have a great opponent in front of us, the challenge is exciting. Our mentality is to fight for the match the whole 90 minutes.”
He went on to say: “I cannot say my ambition is to win the Europa League when first we have to face Espanyol. That is my mentality, the same as all of Wolverhampton.”
When asked if he would be open to playing for Real Madrid, the Wolves star said: “It would not be a problem for me. I do not close any doors, that is the reality.
“Right now I am happy here, I think we have a great team of people. Being in the Europa League is a new stage for us and the physiotherapists do incredible work for our rehabilitation.
“From there, Madrid or Barcelona (offers) will come when they come, but my mentality is to keep growing as a player.”
Traore, who made his debut in professional football with Barcelona after coming through their youth programme, spoke about his time at the Spanish club saying: “There were situations at Barcelona that I did not like and I made the decision to leave.”
The winger then made his way to the Premier League after two years in La Liga and said his “stages at Aston Villa and Middlesbrough were hard, they made me grow as a person and a player.”
