A terrified Tibetan temple guest got the scare of his life when he found a pack of hungry wild bears outside his bedroom window waiting for food.

The bears – accompanied by a dog – were prowling the car park apparently waiting for an early breakfast.

The guest – named only as Mr Huang in local media – has been staying at the temple in Yushu, Qinghai Province, central China.

He said: “When I saw so many bears, I was too scared to go outside which was a problem because my car was parked below the couldn’t get to it to drive away.”

A phone video he took from his window shows the bears gathering in the temple grounds apparently waiting for something.

Then when Wang opens his window many of them jump up on their hind legs as if begging.

It was only when he later spoke to the monks that the scare bear mystery was solved.

Wuang said: “I heard from the monks in the temple that these bears were indeed wild, and that they had come down from the mountain because they were hungry.

“The monks had taken pity on them and have been feeding them highland barley noodles.

“Apparently, the bears and the monks get on very well and there is peaceful coexistence, but nevertheless, I wasn’t taking any chances.”
