This is the vertigo moment when a cleaner stretches out to clean the windows at a high-rise apartment above a terrifying 200-foot drop.

The footage – shot at a tower block in Medellin, Colombia, on 12th January – shows the cleaner perched on a narrow ledge as she leans over to wipe the glass.

It was later shared online and quickly did the rounds, racking up hundreds of thousands of views.

It shows how the barefoot woman walks along the inches-wide ledge as she cleans the windows of the high-rise flat with a duster and a spray-on cleaner.

Just one foot wrong and she faces a 12-storey plunge to her certain death.

The person who filmed the footage said she had tried to persuade the woman to go back inside, but she had refused.

She said she had even alerted the building’s concierge and other neighbours to try to make the maid go back into the flat.

She revealed that when the owners of the flat found out what the maid had been up to, they spoke to her and told her never to put herself in harm’s way again.

Clara Giraldo wrote online: “First I yelled at her to go inside and then I went to the concierge, I left a note for the residents, and the guards went up to the apartment to talk to the lady.”

She added: “It is the first time that this lady has gone to that house.”

Netizen Francisco Pacheco replied: “I think it was the first and last. With such irresponsibility, I don’t think her bosses want that headache!”
