Wildcat Helicopter Conducts Medivac Of Submariner Casualty

SCOTLAND UK: The Wildcat helicopter conducted a medical evacuation on a submarine casualty from an Astute class submarine. The submarine. The rescue mission took place off the shore of Scotland on the 25th of May. The 847 Naval Air Squadron Wildcat helicopter responded to a medivac call. Once the submarine was located, the helicopters hovered over as a winchman was lowered to the submarine. Before the patient was lifted to the helicopter, the winchman dressed him in the correct survival equipment. Once the casualty was recovered in the helicopter he was transferred to Inverness Hospital in Scotland. There are no further reports about the condition of the casualty.
