A wife and her lover have been arrested for attempting to kill the woman’s husband for his money and making it look like suicide after he woke from the coma they had put him in and told the cops everything.

According to local media, the suspects hit the 44-year-old victim, identified as Hector Eduardo Ramirez, over the head and made it appear as if he hanged himself just 20 days after he married his wife.

The incident took place in the city of Quilmes in the eastern Argentine province of Buenos Aires when Leonor Baez, 50, ran out of her house screaming to neighbours that her husband had killed himself, according to reports.

The emergency services arrived and the man was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was admitted in a coma.

Reports said that Baez believed her husband was dead and arrived to the hospital demanding that nobody should enter the room.

The wife told the police that Ramirez, who married Baez just one month ago, had hanged himself after having a row with her in the morning.

During the investigation, police learned that a 49-year-old Paraguayan man named Higinio Ocampo Morales had been at the house on the day of the alleged suicide attempt.

Meanwhile, the victim woke up from his coma after five days and was able to recount everything to the authorities.

He claimed that Baez had hit him over the head and dragged him into another room.

Meanwhile, her suspected lover reportedly helped her to stage a suicide.

The victim’s sister Graciela told local media: “My brother was almost dead for five days. Then he opened his eyes and said that his wife tried to kill him. She never imagined in a million years that she would be arrested for murder.

“He was in a living hell because the woman made him marry her in a very short space of time just to kill him and take his money.”

The investigation is ongoing.
