This is the moment a white-skinned pickup driver in South Africa pummels a black motorist before ramming his victim’s car and driving off.

The incident was filmed in the town of Makhanda located in the south-eastern South African province of Eastern Cape and posted on social media.

In the video, a small car is seen at the front of a queue at the traffic lights with a white pickup truck still in contact with its rear bumper after reportedly shunting the vehicle.

The pickup truck’s driver, a heavyset middle-aged man, is seen pummelling a young man in a burgundy top who reportedly owns the small Toyota Tazz.

After the stocky man throws his rival to the ground, he jumps behind the wheel of his truck.

The outraged Toyota owner opens the pickup’s door and appears to repeatedly hit the heavyset man as two pals try to hold him back.

In that moment, the stocky driver puts his foot down on the accelerator and rams the small car out of his way before speeding off.

A passenger in the small car appears to fall onto the ground as the shunted vehicle rolls into the middle of the road.

Police spokesperson Mali Govender said that they are investigating the road-rage row and that details currently remain “very unclear”.

The spokesperson added: “The owner of the (Toyota) Tazz opened a case on Monday.”

The investigation was reportedly first treated as assault to cause grievously bodily harm, but has since been changed to common assault.

According to reports, no arrests have been made yet as the investigation continues.
