This bizarre footage shows how a wheelchair-bound crook single-handedly robbed a store in Brazil.
A security camera inside the commercial establishment in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul state, west-central Brazil filmed the disabled thief as he carried out the robbery in the early hours of 8th September.
After breaking two locks on the glass front door and wrenching it open, he could be seen flinging items to the floor as he rummaged through cupboards inside the premises.
He made off with a mobile phone and other loot.
The owner of the business, Emerson de Araujo, estimated his losses at around BRL 4,000 (GBP 665), reported local media.
At the time of reporting, the crook had not been caught.
Emerson, 43, told how he got a call from the security company at around 4.15am.
He rushed to the store to find the door had been broken and items taken from within.
Emerson told local media that the thief had spent 15 minutes in front of the establishment checking it out before he made his move.
The crook left the store in a hurry after the alarm went off.
Emerson reported the incident to the police, telling local media: “I was very surprised by everything that happened.”
He added: “Some people contacted me and said they knew him.”
Emerson confirmed that he had passed this information on to the police.
