The groom typically picks up the bride from her family home and the procession of cars then sets off in convoy.

However, the filmed incident of wedding guests taking it upon themselves to stop the traffic at a busy crossroads came in for online criticism.

In the footage, a suped-up red car is seen edging its way into the middle of the intersection with its hazard lights on as the driver appears to signal to the convoy.

A line of cars then started to pass through the red lights before the driver of a white vehicle pulls over to help obstruct the traffic coming from the right hand side.

As the two cars hold up the traffic, a convoy of around 20 cars is seen passing through the lights.
