While it is still moving slowly across the intersection, the lights change to green and a red car is seen speeding into the traffic without apparently considering the lorry.

The red Volkswagen careers into the back of the lorry and is smashed into pieces.

The next scene shows the vehicle’s debris and wreckage on the road, and even the engine is seen almost in one piece on the tarmac.

According to local media, the car driver, identified as Mr You, died instantly in the crash and his body is seen several metres in front of the wreckage.

Eyewitnesses said that he tried to cross the intersection on the first second of the green light and did not appear to consider the lorry in front of him that was still moving.

The police brought the lorry driver, identified as Mr. Jiang, back to the station for questioning.

However, reports said that it was decided he did not violate any traffic laws.

The police said that they will announce the conclusions of the investigation soon.
