This is the moment beautiful Mexican pop star Thalia suffers a burn injury to her arm while lighting sparklers on a huge 80s-themed cake.

The pretty 48-year-old singer, who regularly posts glamorous snaps of her ‘Queen of Latin Pop’ lifestyle on social media, shared the blooper on Instagram where she commands an army of 15.5 million followers.

According to local media, Thalia, who is married to Mariah Carey’s American music executive ex-husband Tommy Mottola, received the 80s-themed cake to celebrate the release of her latest song ‘Ya Tu Me Conoces’ (‘You Already Know Me’).

However, the occasion was marred by a burn to her arm while lighting the cake’s sparklers.

The evergreen pop star shared images of the blistered wound after it was treated with cream for burns injuries.

She said on social media: “What is true, is that arriving home tonight and up till today the burn is constantly hurting.”

Thalia also added: “It is now peeling. This is like a second-degree burn, such pain!”

The 48-year-old singer also recently revealed that she struggles with Lyme disease every day.

She said: “Almost no one knows that I wake up every day feeling pain all over my body. I feel like a bus has run over me! I fight Lyme disease every hour of my life.”

Lyme disease, aka Lyme Borreliosis, is an infectious disease caused by the Borrelia bacterium which is spread by ticks and can cause fever, headache, fatigue and a characteristic skin rash.

Justin Bieber announced on his Instagram account in January that he is also battling the disease.

Thalia said: “It is an unpredictable disease. Some days I feel much better than others, other days I feel awful. Only when I am lucky I feel like brand new.”

The Mexican star also revealed that daily routine and discipline helps her to deal with the symptoms.
